1-Touch Sync
This feature turns your Kindle's folders and subfolders into collections in one click!
To get the most out of this feature, organise your ebooks into folders and subfolders within your "documents" folder. "1 touch sync" will build collection names from your folders and subfolders and populate them automatically with their contents.
Example
If you want your collections organised by genre, author and series, set up your folders like this and your collections will be created like this...

Are the Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch supported?
I'm afraid the Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch are not supported right now.
My collection changes aren't showing on the Kindle
This is usually due to one of the following reasons...
Your Kindle needs to be restarted before you'll see the changes
This isn't just switching off the device, then switching it on again :-) You need to do a proper "soft reset".
You can do this by either holding down the Kindle's power slider/button for 15 seconds or by navigating through the menus like this...
- Press the "Home" button
- Press the "Menu" button
- Select "Settings"
- Press the "Menu" button
- Select "Restart"
The Kindle will then go through a restart process which can take a few minutes. When the home screen appears again, it can take a couple more minutes before your collections show the right number of books. This is quite normal and the more collections you have, the longer it can take. This only happens when the device is restarted, you won't need to wait like this every time you switch your Kindle on.
Your device is not set to display "By Collection"
If your device is still set to display eBooks "By Author" or "By Title", you'll need to change it so your books are organised by collections instead. Here's how to do this...
- Press the "Home" button
- Move the cursor to the top of the screen - past the first book so "By Author" or "By Title" is highlighted
- Move the cursor right and select "By Collection"
Your Kindle is not yet registered with Amazon
If your Kindle is not yet registered with Amazon, you won't be able to create collections - either manually or using the Kindle Collection Manager.
Solve this problem by registering your device with Amazon either over Wi-Fi or 3G
You may have found a bug!
If you think you've found a bug, please send an email to adrian@colegate.net with the following information...
- Your name
- The operating system you're using
- The type of Kindle you're using and it's firmware version. You can find this by pressing the "Home" then "Menu" buttons. Select "Settings". The firmware version should be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
- How to replicate the problem
- If it's a problem with a specific eBook, please attach the ebook to your email. Retail eBooks have DRM protection built-in which safeguards it against piracy. This means they're safe to email as they're useless to anyone but you. I'd just need to look at the non-encrypted header.
